“You miss 100% of the shots you never take" (Wayne Gretzky, hockey player)
Risks are the integral part of life and business. We all want to earn a lot exposed to minimal risk. Anyhow, there are some risks that we have to take. There is a whole set of risk tools and rules that enables us to minimize risks so we can avoid losses.
But what if risks are actually happening; if it turns out that we have missed or overseen something; or something just has happened unexpectedly? What is to be done the moment we realize that we could be facing with losses?
Can we do something in order to turn things around or to decrease the loss? When, in which particular moment, and how to react?
It is very important to spot the issue on time and to react timely. There are numerous signals alerting us that there is something wrong. All you need is to be able to recognize those signals and instead of “waiting for everything to pass”, you can apply particular measures on time.
What appears to be the most important at that moment is our relation with client/bank and mutual trust. If there is a mutual trust, the chances of succeeding and achieving the victory are much higher i.e. with no or less losses. How? I have been working on this for five years in Raiffeisen Bank.
